The Witch
I'm Pyrus, a Brazilian-born musician, engineer, and music technologist. Growing up in a small town in Brazil, I was always drawn to music and technology. I studied aeronautical engineering, worked at Airbus, where I started a PhD, but ultimately chose to pursue music full-time.
As an autistic individual, I've learned to harness my unique perspective to create innovative music and tools. My journey has taken me from writing songs as a teenager to building music production tools and software. I'm passionate about making music technology more accessible to people who think and learn differently.
Currently based in the NYC area, I'm focused on creating music, tools, and resources that empower artists and producers. I'm excited to share my work with you and explore the intersection of technology, music and spirituality.

The four albums

raised in the afro-diasporic religion Umbanda, I grew up surrounded by Yoruba culture and spirituality, specially in the "pontos" (sacred songs) sung in rituals. This influence is deeply embedded in my music and artistic vision. I believe music is a gateway to the spiritual realm and a key aspect in aligning with our higher selves. I have grown to explore Candomblé and Ifá traditions as well, followed by the study of Alchemy, Gnosticism, the Kaballah and Egyptian mythology. I am always looking to learn more on how different spiritualities are so interconnected.
